Panic Disorder

  • Panic attacks have a 3%-5% lifetime prevalence and are twice as common in women

  • The mean age of onset for Panic Disorder is 25

  • Panic disorder can be associated with Agoraphobia (see Agoraphobia) and is frequently comorbid with depression, other anxiety disorders, personality disorders, substance related disorders.

If you ever experience short periods of time (minutes) of intense fear or discomfort and at least four of the following symptoms you might have panic attacks and you might benefit of psychiatric treatment.
